Summer butterfly craft

So, I heard that the first day of summer was last Wednesday... Do any of you have any exciting plans for summer?

I thought that since it is finally summer time, I would do a post about a fun summer art activity!

First of all, summer opens up a lot of doors for creativity and inspiration from the things around you. The flowers, the sun, the weather, everything.

Art supplies required for this craft include:
  • A pencil, pen, marker
  • Scissors, craft knives
  • Glue stick, liquid glue will probably work better for these activities
  • Milk jug/hard plastic
I will also list the ones needed for each craft. Let's get started!

 Butterflies
 How to:
  1. Take the milk jug and using a black marker(sharpie) and trace the outline of a butterfly on the side of the milk jug.
  2. Roughly cut out the butterfly and then do it more precisely.
  3. Hold it flat and draw the details onto the butterfly with a permanent marker.
  4. Color inside the lines with bright colors to make the wings pop.
  5. Take the black wire, and bend it into the shape of the butterfly's antennas.
  6. Bend the butterfly in half slightly and glue the antennas onto the center.
These butterflies are pretty easy to make, and they make good garden ornaments, gift accessories, baby lullabies, room decorations, necklace pendants, almost anything.

Have fun trying this activity and tell me what you think!

 Good night
