Scissors!
Scissors are tools commonly used in craft projects. Scissors are used to cut through objects
such as paper, cardboard, tinfoil, plastic, and just about any other kind of material. They usually get the job done well. But... For a more precise cut, craft knives can come in handy. They have a little button to push the blade up higher or lower, making it easy to cut through thicker materials, like cardboard. Most of the time they have finger grooves on one side for a better grip on the knife.
Scissors are better for cutting thinner material; The opposite of an craft knife. They have two blades for cutting and two large finger holes(let's just call them that) to hold onto when you use them. A lot of people use scissors for simpler craft projects.
Similarities
- They both usually have finger grooves
- Both have blades made for many types of materials
- Both need to be sharpened after a few uses. I'd say to sharpen them every 400-500 cuts. Seems like a lot but it goes by fast.
Safety
- Never run with the knife or scissors pointing towards you. Just thought to remind you all of that rule.
- Make sure that your fingers are far away from the tool when cutting.
- ALWAYS have a good grip on the handle. Not that fun when it slips and you end up with a blade in your hand.
- If the knife or scissors won't cut through an object. Don't force it. Refer to the last sentence of rule #3.
- When using scissors always look at where you're cutting. Stop when you want to look around.
- DO NOT use the knife or scissors as a sword, no matter how big the urge is.
- Don't use the tools in the dark.
Bye!
